2011 Workshops

Held March 2, 2011, PR101: Back-to-Basics Public Relations for Nonprofits, Businesses and Community Groups helped communicators brush up on their fundamental public relations skills, with great advice from some of the local pros. Topics included:

Strategy, not Strategery: Why it’s so important to have a public relations and communications plan, and what that plan should include.

Talking Points: Communicating clearly to internal audiences can stop rumors before they start and protect your organization's reputation.

Social Media – Handle With Care: Social media is now mainstream, yet many people get started without a plan or a clear idea of what can happen. Learn how to keep your personal brand and that of your employer blemish-free and working for you across the realm of cyberspace.

Multipurpose Messaging:  The basics of concise, clear writing, which is critical in today’s fragmented and increasingly electronic communications environment.
